"Nurturing Lives: Solutions for Accessible Breast Milk Donation and Infant Care."
Project Overview
A team project focused on designing the service/user flow for breast milk donation, led by me and involving five members. My responsibilities included defining the project scope, identifying stakeholders, creating a survey questionnaire, and mapping ecosystems, journeys, and service blueprints. The project's goal was to raise awareness, destigmatize, and normalize breast milk donation across communities by addressing various social, cultural, and ethical barriers, aiming for safe and efficient distribution through Feeding Futures.
Approach
We surveyed various demographic groups to understand public perception of breast milk donation. Findings revealed low awareness, misconceptions about health risks, and logistical issues. In response, we created a service model to raise awareness and establish an organized system for transportation, storage, and mental health support for donors, promoting a compassionate approach to breast milk donation.
Frameworks
The Ecosystem Map, Journey Maps, and Service Blueprint offer a detailed overview of our strategies for addressing challenges in the breast milk donation system. The Ecosystem Map shows key stakeholder relationships, Journey Maps depict donor and recipient experiences, and the Service Blueprint outlines operational processes for effective donations.
